Norr om is a two-person band born in 2011 in a small town in Dalarna, Sweden. We have never really been able to define our music genre so these days we just say “the kind of music you might listen to in the autumn, in a candlelit café or even on a late summer’s evening in a garden somewhere” or “some kind of folky indie maybe?” or “it’s usually just two guitars and a whole lot of emotion”.

We play covers and write our own songs. For the longest time we’ve written all of our music in English but lately we’ve started exploring writing our own music in Swedish, too.

Juno is a singer at heart and self-taught on a few instruments where guitar is the most frequented and accordion the newest. They often wish they had the patience to stick to learning an instrument “properly” but will, at the same time, rant for hours about how music isn’t confined to rules or prestige. They strongly believe music is free to be created out of anything and that what matters most is the feeling.

Lo will pick up an instrument and it will seem like that instrument was made for them. In our band it’s usually guitar, but they’ve dabbled with some bass, piano and trumpet, too. They are also a singer. Lo loves nerding out on sound engineering and does most of our recording and all of our mixing and mastering. They love a good cable and will insist the spring is just around the corner mid-winter.
